ROMANO EXCLUSIVE: Roma vs Napoli for Diawara

Last year, Bologna made a real masterpiece by signing the 19-year-old midfielder Amadou Diawara from San Marino. The Guinean international has become a key player for the rossoblu, despite he earns only €70k per season.

Recently, Valencia have offered €1 million per year to the player and a €10 million transfer fee to the Italian club, which has refused; then, as well known, there has been a rupture between Bologna and Diawara, who has not joined the felsinei’s preseason training camp.

The Emilia’s club could let the youngster leave, but it’s asking for about €15 million; moreover, the rossoblu would prefer to negotiate with AS Roma, who have been tracking the player but only after informing them; on the contrary, Diawara’s agent would prefer their client to join Napoli, who are seeking the heir of Mirko Valdifiori.

In the past, also Bayern Munich and Juventus have been tracking Diawara: the bianconeri were in talks with Bologna Director of Sport Pantaleo Corvino, but the latter has finally left the rossoblu to become Fiorentina General Manager, so the Serie A defending champions have decided to focus on other targets.
