From England: Liverpool chase 'humiliated' Gabigol

Liverpool could make a January move for Inter midfielder Gabigol, according to reports.

The Daily Mirror claim that the Reds are interested in the €30m summer acquisition, whose agent has recently claimed has been ‘humiliated’ by the Nerazzurri.

Gabigol arrived in Italy towards the end of the transfer deadline, and was presented to the press in Pirelli’s glitzy Auditorium.

With greatness expected of him, the former Santos man has only played 16 minutes, provoking some furious comments from agent Wagner Ribeiro.

"I talk to him constantly. Everyone knows the salary which Gabriel receives at Inter isn’t sustainable for Santos, no club [in Brazil] can afford him,” he told ESPN Brazil.

“I was contacted by a club from Rio and one from Minas to take Gabriel on loan, but I can’t guarantee anything. What I want is for my client to no longer be humiliated. Why isn’t he playing? Not even Inter can answer that."

This comes a few days after Ribeiro had another outburst, saying that “Gabigol was angry, and he’s right to be”.

Then again, it’s not completely the Nerazzurri’s fault if the Brazilian is gaining weight, or indeed struggling to adapt to the rigors of Serie A football.
