Chelsea target Nainggolan: ‘I could have left Roma, but I want to see what it feels like to win a Scudetto here’
Pursued by both Juventus and Chelsea (among others) this summer, the Diable Rouge admitted that he could have left the Olimpico, but a special feeling held him back…
“Yeah, I was approached," he told La Repubblica, “but one needs to think about how one wants to live, and being happy is important for me.
“People like me here, I had a lot of things on my mind, I put it all together and chose to stay.
“I believe that we can really win here, and when it happens I want to be here to experience that feeling”
About this weekend’s big clash:
“We’ve only focussed on Lazio and Milan. We’ve beaten them, and we’ll now try to come up with a coup. It’s the only way to work out how good we are”.
On friend Miralem Pjanic, who left Roma for Juventus this summer:
“I still like him. He’s a friend, he did what he thought was best for himself, I speak to him almost every day, to tell the truth.
“If we were to win this year I’ll enjoy taking the mick out of him!
“Me saying that I’d never speak to him again if he left for Juve? I said that because I knew what we’d lose, and how much he could bring to Juventus”
