Miha chews out Azzurri promise Baselli: 'Show some b***s!'
One would have thought that Daniele Baselli would skyrocket after a strong start to the season.
The young Torino man netted in the league opener against Milan, following it up with another in the 5-1 rout of Bologna.
Instead, the 24-year-old has mysteriously declined, mirroring his dip after an early scoring streak last season.
What has happened? Sinisa Mihajlovic has the answer. It is no mystery that the Serbian believes that a player is only as talented as he is gritty… and it appears that Baselli falls short in that department. Very short.
“I took Baselli off [in Torino’s 0-0 draw against Pescara] because he didn’t give me anything,” Mihajlovic said in the post-game presser, “I’ve been talking to him for three months and tell him to show some b***s, if he has them.
“He’s from Bergamo, and he’s the only Bergamasque player who doesn’t have that fire”.
Talk about being chewed out! Then again, the savvy Serb then threw in some carrot…
“He is, in my opinion, the midfielder with the most quality in our squad,” Mihajlovic continued.
“But he has no fire in his eyes, and until he doesn’t get it he won’t do anything, and I’ll keep getting angry with him, both for his good and that of the team”.
