Paper talk: hit-man set for Torino extension, fans hit out at Spurs target Icardi

Today’s edition of Tuttosport reports that Torino hit-man Andrea Belotti is set to extend his stay at the club signing a five-year contract extension with a huge pay rise and a stunning € 60 million release clause.

The Italian hit-man has five goals in as much Serie A appearances this season and netted his first International goal with Italy national team earlier this week as Italy beat Macedonia 3-2 in a world cup qualifier tie.

Belotti, 22, moved to Torino from Palermo in a € 8.4 million bid and is considered Italy’s finest centre forward at the moment.

Meantime, things do not look rosy for Sampdoria as the blucerchiati got a disappointing 1-1 draw against Pescara yesterday night with the newly promoted boys who played with one man down for the whole second half but would have snatched the three points if only Gianluca Caprari had scored from the spot, also in the second half.

Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero had a private chat with manager Marco Giampaolo a few days before the game confirming that he would have kept his job, but Ferrero couldn’t hid his frustration after yesterday’s draw and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Saturday’s Genoa derby will be vital for the the Italian gaffer to keep his job.
