PAPER TALK: Darmians's date with Juve; Flamini's Napoli link; boing boing here's Sissoko
Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian will be a primary target for Juventus in the January transfer window providing they can off-load Swiss international Stephen Lichtsteiner. The 32-year-old, whose contract expires next summer, has a clause inserted that automatically gives the bianconeri the chance to extend it by one-year thus avoiding losing him on a free-transfer. Any club wanting to take him (and Chelsea have been long-term admirers) will have to pay that clause should his current employer decide to activate it.
Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho looked like he was about to sell Darmian this summer but then did a u-turn to keep the 26-year-old at Old Trafford. Tuttosport now claims that the Portuguese tactician has already expressed his desire to release the Italian international in the new year. Inter have also been linked with a possible move.
