Matchday 9 LIVE: AC Milan and Juventus win
Welcome to our Matchday 9 coverage of the early afternoon action from Serie A.
Milan - Sassuolo
Sinisa Mihajlovic's men welcome dangerous Sassuolo to the Giuseppe Meazza. Winless in three Serie A games, Milan further angered owner and president Silvio Berlusconi by losing to rivals Inter... in a friendly, admitted named after the magnate's father, Luigi. For their part, Eusebio Di Francesco's men sit in 5th place following a 2-1 win over Lazio, albeit tarnished somewhat by one of their penalties being the result of this outrageos dive from Paolo Cannavaro.
Juventus - Atalanta
Despite going four games unbeaten (including two Champions League outings), Juventus coach Max Allegri is still under siege. His side face a reinvigorated Atalanta today at the Juventus Stadium. Beyond their humiliation (3-0) at the hands of Fiorentina, the Orobici have been one of this season's surprises. The defence is solid with Rafael Toloi, Andrea Consigli is a wonderful goalkeeper, whilst in midfield Luca Cigarini has been kept out by Jasmin Kurtic, Alberto Grassi and Marten de Roon. In attack, Maxi Moralez has been giving defences a masterclass in counterattacking football. Exactly 20 years ago to the day, Fabio Gallo downed Juventus in the 3rd Round of the Coppa Italia with this strike.
Atalanta will be hoping history repeats itself...
