Borja Valero: 'Milan and Roma wanted me, but I want to retire a Fiorentina player'

With Fiorentina facing AC Milan tomorrow night, a cycle of sorts will conclude for Borja Valero, who told the Gazzetta dello Sport today that both the Rossoneri and last week’s opponents Roma had chased him in the summer transfer window.

The former Villareal man also confirmed that he wants to retire as a Viola player.

“I’d like to end my career with Fiorentina. There will be time to talk about it, but I’d be happy if it happened”.

The Spaniard is currently rumoured to be in transfer negotiations with the Florentine side.

“I read of Milan’s interest this summer, and of Roma’s. They’re pleasing rumours, it means I’ve done something good”.

“But I told my agent that my first thought was to stay in Florence. It was what I wanted”.
