EXCLUSIVE Romano: AS Roma seeking Szczęsny's heir

As reported in the last days, it seems difficult that the 25-year-old Wojciech Szczęsny -currently on loan from Arsenal- will remain at AS Roma for good. So, for this reason, the giallorossi are seeking a new goalkeeper, and –as reported by calciomercato.com’s expert Fabrizio Romano- they are extremely attentive to the Brazilian market.

In the past, the giallorossi have had some quite good shot-stoppers from that country, as Doni and Julio Sergio, and last summer, before finding an agreement for the Poland international, were about to sign Internacional de Porto Alegre 23-year-old Alisson. Now, the Roman club, could swoop again on the South American player. Alisson doesn’t have an EU passport, so it would have to be signed by a friendly club first.

Roma are in any case evaluating some alternatives, like Udinese 19-year-old Simone Scuffet, currently on loan at Como.
