Official: Juventus’ star Higuain misses out for Champions League clash with Sevilla

It’s official now. Juventus star striker Gonzalo Higuain will miss tomorrow’s Champions League clash to Sevilla, the club have announced through their official website. The Argentinean striker, however, has not picked up a injury to his right foot like Tuttosport reported this morning, but has a problem to his thigh and his physical conditions will be monitored on a daily basis, according to the club’s statement.

Higuain has not been included in Juventus’ squad for tomorrow’s Champions League clash and won’t be travelling alongside his teammates to Spain where the Old Lady will play a key clash in Europe’s elite competition tomorrow night.

The bianconeri sit second in group H two points behind the LaLiga side and must win if they want to qualify in first place and avoid the biggest clubs in the first round of the knock-out stage. In case of defeat, however, the qualification of Juventus could also be put into doubt especially if Lyon win to Dynamo Zagreb.

With the injury of Higuain, Mario Mandzukic and Moise Kean are the only strikers at Allegri’s disposal. The Croatian hit-man is set to start up front with Alex Sandro and Juan Cuadrado on the wings as Allegri is set to swap Juventus to a 4-3-3 system.

Medhi Benatia and Paulo Dybala are also out of action for tomorrow’s game.
