Zenit's manager confirms Belgium star's Juventus move is close
“I’ll to Axel over the next few days, I may meet him in Romania”, Lucescu has told Tuttosport.
“I know he’s going to spend part of his holidays with his wife’s family. He’s a very important player for Zenit but I know that a footballer’s career only lasts 10-15 years. I’ve never blocked a move of one of my players to a bigger club during my career. Let’s see if there will be the right conditions to sell Witsel in January.”
Witsel, 26, is a long time target of Juventus and the Old Lady can sign him for € 10 million in the January transfer window as his contract with Zenit expires in June 2017 and the player is destined to join Juventus as a free agent anyway at the end of the current campaign.
Calciomercato.com has exclusively learned that Everton and Chelsea have made offers to sign the Belgium International in January, but the former Benfica ace wants to keep his word with Juventus and if the Serie A giants meet his price-tag in January, he’s going to move to the J Stadium next month.
