Rumours: Josè Mourinho adds Barcelona star to Man Utd shopping list
The Special One is a long time admirer of the Croatian midfielder and reportedly wants to sign him next summer. Rakitic, however, would only leave Barcelona if the LaLiga giants push for his Nou Camp exit.
The player’s contract runs until 2019 and the former Sevilla star wants to extend his stay at the club. Barcelona are clearly not going to sell the Croatian midfielder in the January transfer window, but could consider his sale at the end of the season when Andres Iniesta will have recovered from a knee injury.
Barcelona spend big last summer to reinforce their midfield as they signed Andre Gomes from Valencia for € 60 million.
Rakitic, however, is not on Manchester United’s shopping list only, but also Serie A giants Juventus might consider placing an offer for the player if Barcelona leave him free to join another club next summer.
