ANALYSIS: Why Guarin can finally be sold

The 29-year-old midfielder Freddy Guarin has been an Inter Milan player already for three years, but his relation with the nerazzurri has always been quite complicated. The Colombia international joined the nerazzurri thanks to the interest of their former Director of Football Marco Branca, but the then-head coach Walter Mazzarri didn’t seem too happy with the former FC Porto player.

Things changed since the arrival of the new boss Roberto Mancini, who considered Guarin unsellable. On the other hand, Guarin paid him back with some excellent and decisive performances.

Now, as outlined by calciomercato.com, the situation could change again: Guarin will turn 30 in June, his contract will expire in 2017, and, most of all, his salary is extremely high; in other words, the next transfer window could be the right moment for Inter to sell the Colombian.

How would Mancini react? The former manager can finally count on two strong young midfielders as Geoffrey Kondogbia and Marcelo Brozovic, and he knows that –if they would sell Guarin- his executives will invest on the transfer market regarding other positions.
