REF WATCH Milan should have had a penalty before Paletta was sent off | Matchday 10 Edition
Both Milanese sides have something to recriminate about, but expert Massimo Chiesa confirms that Inter could have been responsible for a foul in the penalty area… which wasn’t called.
Genoa-Milan: Paletta’s sending off was the right decision, but Milan should have been given a penalty earlier on for a Miguel Veloso foul on Manuel Locatelli. Banti should have spotted the push.
Inter-Torino: Massa made a few errors when it came to calling fouls. Miranda’s alleged foul on Maxi Lopez is a tough one: he has his arm around Maxi Lopez’s upper torso/ neck area, it was in the grey area.
Even replays can’t clarify whether Emilian Moretti stopped a Candreva header with his arm, or with his shoulder. It looks more like the latter, but it’d be a penalty and sending off if it was his arm.
THOSE RATINGS IN FULL
Chievo Verona-Bologna: Pasqua 6 - He was right not to give Bologna a penalty, Massimo Gobbi got the ball in his contact with Simone Verdi.
Fiorentina-Crotone: Gavillucci 5 - Not up to the task tonight. It wasn’t easy, and bad weather had an impact. Niko Kalinic’s clash with Claiton was a penalty, but the striker was offside. Gavillucci gave a foul to Claiton, which wasn’t there.
Inter-Torino: Massa 5,5.
Juventus-Sampdoria: Russo 6.
Lazio-Cagliari: Celi 6- He’s in better physical shape.
Napoli-Empoli: Mariani 6.
Pescara-Atalanta: Guida 6 - Mattia Caldara had his hand exposed on Alberto Aquilani’s shot, but the two were very close, so he was right not to give the penalty.
Sassuolo-Roma: Damato 6,5.
Genoa-Milan: Banti 5.
TRENDING UP: Damato, Pasqua, Mariani.
BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD: Banti, Gavillucci, Massa.
