Official: Ribery extends expiring Bayern Munich contract

Frank Ribery has signed a new contract with Bayern Munich, the club have announced through their official website and social media accounts. The French winger’s previous contract was due to expire at the end of the season, whilst his new agreement with the Bundesliga giants is set to expire in June 2018.

“I’m very happy to have added one year to my contract with Bayern Munich. This is an amazing club. Munich is my home, in private and in footballing terms.”

Ribery joined Bayern Munich in 2007 in a € 30 million move from Marseille. The French winger has scored 108 goals in 333 games with the Bavarians, registering 164 assists.

The former France star has netted two goals so far this season and could retire from playing football after the end of his contract with Bayern Munich in 2018.

Arjen Robben’s contract also expires at the end of the season, but Bayern have yet to enter new contract talks with the Dutch winger.
