21-year-old defender Daniele Rugani emerged last year as one of the most promising Italian talents; signed in January by Juventus, the youngster remained on loan at Empoli with his mentor Maurizio Sarri –now coaching Napoli- , and finally moved to Turin during the last transfer window. It was well known that Rugani was not going to have many chances to play with the bianconeri, so Sarri himself tried to bring him to Naples, but did not succeed. Also Arsenal have made several attempts to sign the Italy Under 21 international, but the Serie A defending champions have refused all their offers. On the other hand, considering the fact that Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Barzagli and Martin Caceres remain the cornerstones of Massimiliano Allegri’s defense, the Piedmont’s club could decide to give a chance to the young center back to play more minutes and could let him go on loan during the next transfer window: in this case, as outlined by calciomercato.com, a move to Napoli could become this time a concrete option indeed.
