Morata: ‘My happiness comes before Real Madrid’

Juventus star Alvaro Morata has released an interview to Radio Marca ahead of senior Spain national team games against Luxembourg and Ukraine. The 22 year old has just equalized Alessandro Del Piero Champions League scoring record with Juventus and is now considered as a true idol among the Juventus Stadium fans.

Morata joined Juventus from Real Madrid last year, following a € 20 million deal. By the way, his former club could exercise a € 30 million buyback clause at the end of this season and bring him back to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Despite having labeled contract renewal talks with Juventus as “premature” earlier last week, Alvaro Morata has shown no excitement for playing with Real Madrid either.

“I know that according to the agreement [between Juve and Real] I could go back playing for Real Madrid next season. By the way, I guess that when my happiness is involved, that is much more important than a clause in a contract.”

The Spanish ace scored against Barcelona in the last Champions League final that was held in Berlin. The one coming up at the end of this season is in program at San Siro, the next 28thof May.

In case Juve will finally win the most important European trophy, Morata’s plan seems interesting.

“If we’ll manage to get to the final and hopefully to win the cup, I promise I’ll come back home walking from San Siro.”

According to Google maps, the distance he’d have to cover is about 135 kilometers, which means a good 28 hours walking. Still a bit closer than a walk all the way back to the Santiago Bernabeu.
