It’s been quite a year for Alvaro Morata. From being just another Real Madrid youngster fighting an uphill to become a fixture at the Santiago Bernabeu, to actually scoring there in a Champions League semifinal, Morata has leapfrogged into the limelight.

Last night, the 22-year-old striker entered Juventus lore by equalling Alessandro Del Piero’s scoring streak by netting in five consecutive Champions League matches. Thanks also his outrageous strike against Manchester City, the Old Lady leads the appropriately named Group D, with six points out of six.

Juve fans know, however, that former club Real Madrid are always waiting in the wings, and could exercise the 30 million buyback clause included in Morata’s contract if it is allowed to expire. However, speaking to Onda Cero on Thursday, the Spanish striker has confirmed that he is completely focused on what happens on the pitch.

“It’s still early to talk about renewing my contract, we still have a whole season to play!” Morata explained to the Spanish Radio Station.  “I’m relaxed, I think about playing and nothing else. I leave the rest to my family and to my agent. I have a good relationship with Allegri.”
