Lippi: we prefer to play against stronger teams

Back to work! After the poor performance against New Zealand, the Azzurri are back to the training field at the South Downs College. Before starting the session, Lippi spoke with the players, analysing yesterday's match.

Pirlo is recovering and could probably play the next match, whereas Buffon is still resting.

Marcello Lippi then said in a press conference: "I read that Capello said his players are terrified with the World Cup. Well, this is exactly what I don't want for us. Our World Cup is starting now.  We will resolve our problems and will go ahead. Facing stronger teams is better for us.".

"I think we're trying too hard," Lippi said. "We were all sure of what we needed to do, but maybe allowing early goals in both games has changed our approach in some manner. We've got to take responsibility, because nobody is happy."
