Inter, Santon: ‘here’s the difference between Mancini and De Boer’

Inter fullback Davide Santon is getting regular game time under new boss Frank De Boer despite spending the last summer on the club’s list of departures.

The Italian defender failed to complete moves to Southampton, Napoli and West Ham for failing medical tests, but he’s been proving to be fit in the first games of the window.

“It was a tough summer. I am grateful to Mancini for bringing me back to Inter, but then I was the fourth or fifth choice with him in charge. The destiny has want me to stay here.”

“When he player me in the last Milan derby I was not ready, I was not fit, but he still decided to started me.”

“My knee is ok. Of course I can’t play five games in fifteen days, but it is not as bad as doctors said in the summer.”

“I wanted to leave Inter for lack of game time, but De Boer has changed everything. He trusts me and I have never gave up.”

“De Boer has brought here the same mentality of Premier League clubs. We have to press our opponents high the pith, we have to take ball possession and then we can focus on tactics. If we manage to put into practice his ideas, we’ll snatch great results, I am sure about it.”

“We still need more organization; we have to understand when we have to press and when we have to be more compact waiting for our opponents to come.”

“Darmian is a very good guy and an excellent footballer. Signing him would be good. Now, however, we have a problem of concentration, especially in Europe where you can make no mistakes.”

“Whoever plays at Inter can do the difference. We have to wake us up because we still have zero points in the Europa League group.”
