Inter on Criscito as Gabigol contemplates a possible loan-deal
Inter are searching for a left-back in January. The first objective of Sporting Director Ausilio is a player who was courted last summer, Domenico Criscito. The 29-year-old has another year and a half on his contract at Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg where he currently earns €3 million net per season.
The nerazzurri are willing to bring the Italian international back to Serie A but not for the €15 million that his current employer believes he is worth and what they paid Genoa to take him to Russia. An ideal solution would be an initial loan-deal with a view to making the move permanent in the summer. Last summer, Zenit were interested in both Murillo and Jovetic but both players refused a switch to Russia. This time, they may be offered Felipe Melo of Jonathan Biabiany or even Gabigol.
ALTERNATIVES:
Juve’s Stephan Lichtsteiner remains an alternative and there is Matteo Darmian at Manchester United and Ricardo Rodriguez of Wolfsburg. Inter are also only prepared to offer players such as Miangue, Gnoukouri and Gabigol on loan-deals. The situation is different for Felipe Melo, Santon, Biabiany, Jovetic and Kondogbia the last two in particular would bring in significant funds as the club tries to live within the constraints set out by financial fair-play.
