It appears that unsuccessful Inter sophomore Geoffrey Kondogbia was wanted by a great many clubs before he moved to the San Siro.
According to one of his representatives, the former Monaco and Sevilla man was also on Napoli’s radar. Having only scored one goal and created as many assists in league play since joining from Ligue 1 in the summer of 2015, Kondogbia has been linked to a career-rescuing move to Chelsea and Arsenal.
“We made contact with the Azzurri before [Cristiano] Giuntoli became director of sport”, Paolo Schiavone told Radio Kiss Kiss recently.
This clearly regards a potential move to the Azzurri before Kondogbia was eventually acquired by Inter for €32 million, beating competition from clubs like AC Milan.
Schiavone played a key role in facilitating the Frenchman’s move to the San Siro.
“We didn’t get down to details, and we didn’t take it further” Schiavone specified to the Neapolitan radio.
Could the Azzurri be about to re-enter the race for Kondo?
