They may have had a change of coach but there is still no place in the Argentinean national football team for Inter striker Mauro Icardi. His exceptional start to the new campaign for the nerazzurri has not convinced new boss Edgardo Bauza to take a punt and reports from the country suggest there is a simple answer to this; Lionel Messi.
 

Popular magazine programme “The Final Debate” has declared that Messi’s friendship with Maxi Lopez when the two were together at Barcelona is the real reason why Icardi has been continuously overlooked for the biancoceleste. Lopez was of course, the former partner of Wanda Nara who is now married to the 23-year-old Inter man. The couple’s love affair caused controversy between the two players, who were considered to be good friends themselves when Icardi was playing in the Barcelona youth team. These latest reports suggest that while ever Messi remains the most powerful player in Argentina, there will be no room in the squad for the Inter frontman.
