From Kompany to Sakho: four defenders available in January
VINCENT KOMPANY (MANCHESTER CITY) – The Belgian defender used to be a cornerstone of the Premier League giants, but new boss Pep Guardiola is yet not playing him on a regular basis, also due to several injuries of the centre defender who has pin the blame for his poor physical conditions on the club’s medical staff. Inter are monitoring the situation and could make a January bid.
MAHMADOU SAKHO (LIVERPOOL) – The French defender is going to leave Liverpool in two months time. He’s not on good terms with Jurgen Klopp and has been recently fined by the club for some of his Snapchat posts. The 25-year-old used to be a target of AC Milan.
TIMOTHEE KOLODZIEJCZAK (SEVILLA) – Not considered to be starting material at Sevilla by new boss Jorge Sampaoli, the versatile 25-year-old is tracked by several Premier League clubs and being both able to play in the middle or on the left flank, he could be an interesting options for many sides that need cover at the back. Who said Manchester United?
PEPE (REAL MADRID) – The Portuguese centre-back might not be available in the January window as Real Madrid can’t afford selling him without signing a replacement. The Merengues have been punished by UEFA with a two-window ban, but Pepe could leave the Bernabeu at the end of the season, when his contract with the club expires. No agreement between the two parties has been found yet and Pepe does not seem to be motivated enough to continue his career with the LaLiga giants. Juventus are interested in signing him.
