Milan have offered recent signings Luiz Adriano and Leonel Vangioni to Sporting Lisbon, our sources can exclusively reveal.
The Portuguese vice-champions sent an emissary to the San Siro for the Rossoneri’s last home game at the weekend, when they beat Crotone 2-1.
The idea is that, with their sale to the Chinese consortium delayed until early March, the Rossoneri are now fresh out of cash to spend in the January window. This is going to force the Diavolo to try to sell in order to buy.
Currently third - level on points with second-place Roma - it’s hard to see Milan keeping this up if they aren’t able to buy someone fresh.
Adriano is currently costing Milan €3 million a year, and would also like to recoup the €9.8m (amortised) they spent on the Brazilian, who hasn’t scored in the league since April.
The two sides are set to speak again in a few weeks, with Vangioni, who has yet to play a single minute of Serie A football, itching for game time. This explains why his father has agreed with Milan on the need for a loan (with buyout option). Could this end being Sporting?
