Diamanti slams ‘obtuse’ former manager Quique Sanchez Flores

Atalanta offensive midfielder Alessandro Diamanti has released an interview with Sky Sport Italia to talk about his career and his plans for the future.

“The season is not finished yet and we want to end it in the best way possible.”

“I was happy at Watford but the manager was obtuse. He always played the same players and made always the same substitutions. I had never played even if I had been proving that I was fit.”

“I decided to swap club in January, because I am fit but I couldn’t prove it there. I want to give the best until the end of the season to convince Conte to call me to the pre-EURO 2016 training camp.”

“I had lived the dream in 2012 and I hope to repeat it this year. You need good players and great men to win these tournaments.”

“I am happy at Atalanta. I’d like to stay here but it is not up to me.”
