OPINION: AC Milan’s dignity went out the door against Atalanta |Goals and player ratings

The attitude AC Milan’s players showed against Atalanta is something all the Rossoneri fans are quite used to.  With Sinisa Mihajlovic on the brink, players seemed to have no personality, dignity or self-respect at all. Like it had happened already with Allegri, Seedorf and Inzaghi in charge, players struggle to cope with pressure when they feel their manager is edging closer to the exit door.

We have to repeat ourselves saying that ACMilan need a different organization. During yesterday’s press conference Mihajlovic requested new players from next season. Not too many, but  a handful of new faces with enough quality and winning mentality to put the gaffer’s idea of football into practice.

Unfortunately, we fear Sinisa Mihajlovic’s call will remain unheard, at least until the same people and directors will be in charge of the general organization of the club as well as of transfer negotiations.

To make things even worse, a stunning number of former AC Milan players have scored during this week-end, both in Serie A and around all the best European Leagues. Pato netted his first goal for Chelsea yesterday, Bojan and Alberto Paloschi also scored in Premier League games. Zlatan Ibrahomovic, Fernando Torres, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and van Ginkel entered the score-sheet in France, Spain, Germany and Holland, while Acerbi, Gilardino, Birsa and El Shaarawy plundered one goal each in their Serie A games.

Yet again, watching AC Milan players against Atalanta was like watching a movie we’ve already seen and unfortunately we also know how it ends.

The Coppa Italian final will be AC Milan’s last chance to save another shameful season.
