During the last transfer window, the Dutch midfielder Tonny Vilhena was about to join Sampdoria: the 20-year-old, whose contract with Feyenoord expires in June 2016, was already on his way to Italy, but finally –as outlined by calciomercato.com’s expert Fabrizio Romamo- decided to remain in Holland because of family matters. The Serie A seems in any case to be in the young player’s destiny, as one year ago he was offered by his agents to AC Milan. Now Vilhena is not getting many chances to play in Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team and doesn’t seem intentioned to extend his deal with the Stadionclub. For this reason, the Liguria’s club president Maurizio Ferrero is ready to make a new attempt for the young Dutchman, who could join at the end of the season as a free-agent or in January for a reasonable transfer fee.
