Chelsea, assault on Morata: problem for Juve
Juventus are trying to keep hold of Alvaro Morata but things do not look great moving forward. As calciomercato.com has already suggested, Real Madrid have decided to activate their buy-back clause of €30 million and the player is set to bid Turin a fond farewell.
CHELSEA PRESSING
Real Madrid want to take Morata back to Spain before selling him on to the highest bidder and over the past 24 hours, Chelsea has emerged as the primary candidate to take him. The Premier League side has been tracking the player hard over the mast month and with the man who advised the bianconeri to bring him to Serie A in the first place Antonio Conte about to enter Stamford Bridge as the new coach, the connection is obvious. The Blues are ready to offer the 23-year-old €7 million a season plus bonus but there remains fierce competition for his signature.
PSG AND OTHERS
The meeting last week between Juve CEO Marotta and PSG is another piece to add to the puzzle. The French champions will add reinforcements to the attack after the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Morata intrigues them, despite the player’s preference for the Premier League. Manchester United and Arsenal are also monitoring the situation but it’s Chelsea who remains in pole-position.
