Barcelona continue their pursuit of Coutinho
Barcelona want Liverpool play-maker Philippe Coutinho. This is not breaking news for sure but according to Catalan daily Sport, the 24-year-old Brazilian, who scored a fantastic goal in his country’s 3-0 win over Argentina in a World Cup qualifier on Thursday, is now the prime target of the blaugrana for next season.
According to reports from The Mirror this morning, the Anfield club has not inserted a buy-out clause in the player’s current contract on Merseyside, so it would be difficult to prize him away from the current Premier League leaders.
Coutinho has been on fire in the opening months of the new season having already scored six goals in 12 games. His assist rate is also impressive and Barcelona boss Luis Enrique, has identified him as the player who can provide the ammunition for his superstar frontline of Messi Suarez and Neymar. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has other ideas however, the German sees the Brazilian as a key part in his rebuilding of the English giants.
