In an interview with Radio Vision, Barcelona President Josep Bartomeu explained that the blaugrana were closing in on agreeing a new deal with striker Luis Suarez. The patron stated that; “It’s almost done but we just have to sort out a few more details. In the coming days or weeks we will make an official announcement”.
 

The 29-year-old Uruguayan frontman arrived at the Camp Nou for €82 million in the summer of 2014 after a devastating spell at Liverpool where he blossomed under the tutelage of Brendan Rogers. That impressive form continued at his new club where he has already scored 65 times in just 75 appearances. Despite rumours that this season could be his last in Catalunya and with clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain constantly linked with a move for his services, the man nicknamed “Il Pistolero” looks almost certain to commit his immediate future to the Spanish champions.
