Winter is coming! Napoli want Soriano in, De Guzman out
With January round the corner, Napoli Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli is already hard at work determining his team's market strategy, how best to give new coach Maurizio Sarri the depth he needs to keep fighting for the title.
The priority, however, is to take care of departures. With Jonathan de Guzman and Cristian Zuniga barely getting a game this year, Napoli will hope to get rid of both. With Zuniga claiming that he's in great shape, but that the club won't play him, he should be easy to move.
Having apparently wanted to leave during the summer, it's very likely tha the Colombian would already be a Sampdoria player if it wasn't for the Soriano deal collapsing. He may budge in January, possibly in exchange for Milan midfielder Andrea Poli.
Whilst de Guzman should no longer oppose a move as he did this summer, Giuntoli will also keep working on the Soriano case, hoping to further enrich his midfield with one of Italy's hottest young properties.
