Will Real Madrid buy Morata to sell him on to Liverpool and Manchester United?
Morata had only managed one league goal before last week, before adding four goals in as many days (two against hated rivals Inter) to steer his season back on the right course.
The Merengues, provided the 23-year-old agrees, can have their former product back for 32 million, but there's a catch. Whilst we've generally heard that both manager Zinedine Zidane and President Florentino Perez want to gamble on the youngster, Marca are saying the complete opposite.
Instead of keeping him, Marca claim the Merengues want to sell Morata on to finance other acquisitions.
Manchester United and Liverpool are very much interested, whilst Real Madrid will be able to use the cash to focus on Florentino Perez's latest fantasy, Robert Lewandowski, especially if one between Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo leave. Our Spanish colleague believe the club will invest at least 50 million, with Paul Pogba reported to top Zinedine Zidane's wishlist.
Morata's contract runs till 2020, and he can shoot down any proposition anyway.
