    Widmer, Juventus make secret move

Juventus are looking for an eventual replacement for Stephan Lichtsteiner and the bianconeri have their sights set on two current Serie A players.

    BLITZ FOR WIDMER
On Wednesday evening, General Manager Beppe Marotta and Sporting Director Fabio Paratici headed for the Dacia Arena in Udine with the subject of their attention being full-back Alex Widmer. The 23-year-old, so long reduced to being a substitute during the reign of Colantuono, has now been given a new lease of life by current coach De Canio. A former target for Inter, Paratici has now entered into negotiations with the player’s representatives and soon there will be contact with Udinese. The two clubs have an excellent working relationship in the transfer market.

    VRSALJKO REMAINS ON THE LIST
The Old Lady has another name in the notebook too; 24-year-old Sassuolo right-back Šime Vrsaljko. The Croatian has been one of the success stories of the Serie A season and has broken into the national team just in time for Euro 2016. Paratici has been monitoring his progress for some time now and once again, the bianconeri can point to an excellent relationship with the club’s president Squinzi. It could even be possible that Domenico Berardi, who is currently on-loan at the club from Juventus, may be used as part of any deal.
