Who is Mustafa Kapi: the 14-year-old starlet who’s just made senior debut with Galatasaray
The game was not an official one as the Turkish league is also suspended during the International break, but yesterday’s game was the first taste of senior football for the promising product of the Turkish club’s academy.
Galatasaray played Levski Sofia yesterday night and with the SuperLig giants leading for 2-0, the manager Jan Old Riekerink decided to play the 14-year-old player in the last three minutes of the game.
All in a sudden, Kapi found himself playing alongside some of the most important players of the league like Lukas Podolski and Hamit Altintop.2002 doğumlu Mustafa Kapı, Galatasaray Futbol A Takımıyla maça çıkan en genç isim oldu. #GSlive pic.twitter.com/SYrNCkImiz

Turkish media has already tipped the emerging talent as the new ‘Paul Pogba’, though the Frenchman made his debut with Manchester United senior team aged 18.
Kapi has already played for U-14 Turkey national team and is clearly considered one of the most interesting players in his country.
“I think we have to give youths a change”, Galatasaray boss told media after the game.
“Mustafa is one of the best products of the club’s academy and we wanted to prove that he can already train an play with us.”
Kapi has become the youngest player to make senior debut with Galatasaray squad.
“It’s a special day for me, I want to thank the boss”, he said minutes after the final whistle.
“I’ve been lucky enough to wear this whist and I hope that it will also happen in the future, I can’t describe how excited I am right now.”
