Galatasaray DS hints at possible return of Felipe Melo

Galatasaray director of sport Thomas Ujfalusi has released an interview with Fotospor suggesting that Felipe Melo could return to the club soon.

“I can’t deny that there is love between Felipe Melo and Galatasaray and that we couldn’t deny him to return to the club.”

“I think that in the future he will return here.”

Melo, 33, moved from Galatasaray to Inter in a € 3.7 million move in summer 2015. Former Inter boss Roberto Mancini strongly wanted him at the club after having coached the Brazilian in Turkey.

Despite a positive start of the 2015-16 campaign, however, Melo failed to live up to expectations and has been relegated to the bench several times both under Mancini than under De Boer, so much so he has just 32 appearances with the Serie A club.

Melo has four appearances with the club this term, though he has only played 60 minutes in Serie A and 164 in two Europa League games, both lost by Inter at hands of Hapoel Be’er Sheva and Sparta Prague.
