The best striker in Europe at the moment is Anthony Modeste. The 28-year-old is having an incredible season at FC Köln and has already notched up 11 goals in their opening 11 Bundesliga matches. The Frenchman, whose family originate from Martinique, has fitted perfectly into the side since his arrival in 2015.
 

Born in Cannes, he grew up in the youth team at Frejus alongside a man who knows Serie A very well, Kevin Constant, before making his professional debut with Nice. He then transferred to Angers followed by Bordeaux and then Bastia. He made his Under 21 debut for the French national team in 2008.  

He almost left the Bundesliga in the summer to head to the lucrative Super-League in China, but chose to remain in Germany due to the ill-health of his son. He recently stated that; “Family is the most important thing and I play football for them”. In the dressing-room he is the club DJ and at 28 he is maturing into one of the deadliest marksman in Europe. His one big regret is that a proposed move to Arsenal fell through in 2012 when he was on-loan at Blackburn Rovers. Sampdoria have also tried to secure his services during his time at Hoffenheim. For now though, the man whose idol is Didier Drogba, continues to delight the fans at the RheinEnergieStadion.
