Watch: €32m prodigy Gabriel Jesus will land in Manchester today
Juventus and Inter fans will be sad to see this: Brazilian sensation Gabriel Jesus is set to arrive in Manchester today, having finished up at Palmeiras.
Acquired for a stunning €32 million in summer, the Manchester City signing was allowed to remain in Brazil until the end of the Serie A season.
The 19-year-old responded by netting a total of 12 goals in 27 appearances, his strong play having European fans frothing at the mouth.
Juventus and Barcelona were especially interested in the talent, who played all six games for his country in this summer’s Olympic football tournament, scoring three goals.
Though Inter Milan were in the race too, the Brazilian talent was never going to leave cheap, especially once the likes of Fabio Paratici unleashed his observers to watch the 19-year-old. By the time Inter had joined the race, Palmeiras were already asking for €40m, according to reports.

The Manchester Evening News claims he’ll wear the No. 33 shirt, the same age at which Christian prophet Jesus Christ is said to have died. Born Gabriel Fernando, he changed his name two years ago when he began life as a professional footballer in order to further showcase his faith.
