Milan: two Brazilians heading for the exit
January is fast approaching and everyone is preparing to reconstruct their respective squads. Milan have more cause for optimism than most; an imminent takeover by Sino Sports-Europe means that the rossoneri will finally have the financial muscle to compete with Europe’s best but first, coach Vincenzo Montella must off-load players who are surplus to requirements.
With Keisuke Honda set to depart to China, Brazilian duo, Rodrigo Ely and Luiz Adriano also look set to bid farewell to the club. 23-year-old Ely is reported to be wanted in Sardinia with Cagliari boss Rastelli anxious to reinforce his sides back four. The player has a deal in Milan until 2019 but seems destined to go out on-loan for the remainder of the current campaign.
Luis Adriano’s final destination looks likely to be away from Serie A. The 29-year-old striker has found first-team action hard to come by and does not figure in Montella’s plans for the new year. Having already rejected a move to China in the summer of 2015, he could well head back there in 2017.
