Watch: 4000 Roma fans welcome players in training following Derby win
Roma fans gave their heroes a rousing reception today.
The Giallorossi won yesterday’s Derby against Lazio 2-0, helping them hold onto second place and keeping them going at the same pace as Juventus, who are top and beat Atalanta on Saturday evening.
A welcome contrast to Lazio’s Ultras calling the game a “racial war”, Roma’s players were welcomed by fans at the Tre Fontane training complex today, over 4000 of them flocking to welcome their team.
The Giallorossi had decided beforehand that training should be open to the crowd, even opening the stand normally reserved for the press to let more fans in!
The outpouring is incredible, especially considering that Roma’s players were only there to loosen up and keep the workout light.
As can be seen in the video below, the atmosphere was generally calm and relaxed, and nothing to do with Antonio Rudiger and Sead Lulic, whose offensive statements didn’t go down too well.
