Everton set to make improved bid to sign Italian striker in January

Everton are set to make an improved bid to sign Italian striker Manolo Gabbiadini in the January transfer window, today’s edition of the Daily Mirror reports. The Italian striker has played 15 games in all competitions so far this season managing just two goals, but although the Serie A giants’ president Aurelio De Laurentiis is a long-time admirer of the former Sampdoria man, Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri believes that he’s not the right player to feature as sole striker to replace injured Arkadisuz Milik.

Everton saw their £ 14 million offer rejected by Napoli last week, but the Toffees are not going to give up on the 25-year-old striker and are considering matching the player’s £ 20-million-price tag in the January transfer window.

Despite his lack of game time as well as his recent goal draught, Gabbiadini remains one of the hottest commodities in Serie A, so much so Atletico Madrid scouted him last week-end during Napoli’s 3-0 win over Inter and AC Milan also being monitoring the situation of the unhappy Napoli striker.
