Walace: "My inspirations are Emerson and Pogba. Inter? It's a great club"
Having been compared to two of his idols, Emerson and Pogba, he was asked which one he thought he most resembled in style to which he replied; “I believe I have a few qualities of both players. Emerson began playing more offensively but when he played for Brazil, he adapted a more defensive role. With Pogba, I have the same attacking instincts”.
Having previously been linked with a move to Fiorentina, he explained the reasons behind the collapse of the move, stating that; “An agreement couldn’t be reached between the two clubs but I’m not worried as I know Gremio have only my best interests at heart”. Asked if he thought he was ready to come to Serie A, Walace explained that; “Yes for sure. The Brazilian championship has many top players and playing in the Coppa Libertadores has given me valuable experience”.
Finally, on the subject of interest from Inter he declared that; “At the moment, I’m only concentrating on Gremio as there has been nothing concrete from them. If an offer comes in then we will evaluate it because we are talking about two big clubs here. I’m still young and it’s important for me to have game time to help me grow”.
