15.02 BST: Former Inter President Massimo Moratti has released an interview with ANSA talking about yesterday night’s dinner with Suning group’s representatives.
“It was a friendly meeting, it was useful to know them better. They left a good impression on me, but I know nothing about negotiations. My position at Inter? Well, I don’t know exactly which one is. Let’s wait to see their next steps.”
12.15 BST: New meeting with Suning representatives as reported by SportMediaset including Thohir, and CEO Bolingbroke.
A turning point for Inter; the Chinese Group Suning arrived in Milan on Friday, met the city’s mayor Pisapia and went to visit the club headquarters at Appiano Gentile. In the evening they were guests of Massimo Morratti at his villa in Imbersago. Tonight they will be present at the San Siro for the match against Udinese as takeover talks enter a critical stage.
President Erick Thohir plans to sell the nerazzurri and has his sights set on England, where, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he is planning to buy championship side Fulham. The Suning Group will initially take 20% of Thohir’s holding at Inter and within 2-3 years will assume full control.
