Sassuolo Pres: 'I don't want to support Milan anymore, refereeing ruined the game'

Sassuolo are very angry at Milan’s come-from-behind win at the weekend, and not because they conceded four goals.

Speaking to the Italian press, the Neroverdi’s president, Giorgio Squinzi, lamented four refereeing oversights which, in his opinion, played a big role in turning the game, which Sassuolo led 3-1 into the second half.

What makes this remarkable is that Squinzi has never hidden his long-term affection for the Rossoneri, his childhood passion.

“The game was fixed, twisted by a number of episodes”, Squinzi told the Gazzetta dello Sport, “at least four episodes don’t convince me.

“The penalty not given to Politano, Adjapong’s goal being disallowed, the very generous penalty given to Niang and the foul committed on Acerbi at the death.

“Di Francesco was right to complain. I have a lot of respect and appreciation for him, we were 3-1 up at the San Siro and had the game under control. I almost don’t want to be an AC Milan fan anymore”.
