Sarri explains how Napoli can replace Higuain

Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri has held a pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow’s Serie A clash against newly-promoted side Pescara, here’s what he told reporters attending the presser.

    ON HIGUAIN
“Some Juventus chiefs talked about Higuain when he was still contracted with Juventus, which p****d me off a lot. Anyway I don’t want to talk about him anymore. Hi mum made him the best striker in the world, not me.”
“There is only one way to replace a striker who netted 36 goals, but we can’t put it into practice, so we have to try something else. We scored goals with 17 different players last term, so we have to take the same path. We can’t underestimate the loss of Higuain. Mertens, Callejon and Hamsik can score more goals and we still have Gabbiadini and Milik. We’ve lost an important player, but we’ve kept some others, which is not to be taken for granted.”

    MILIK AND GABBIADINI
“They [Gabbiadini and Milik] don’t have to bother about comparisons with Higuain. I was sorry to see Gabbiadini linked with Napoli exit because he worked very well in the pre-season. Manolo has an amazing talent for attacking the space, Milik plays more with the rest of the team.”

“We can’t leave Gabbiadini alone like with did in the first half against Herta Berlin. We used to attack with width when Higuain was here, now we’ll have to play in small spaces.”

    ZIELINSKI
“Zielinski is phenomenal in technical terms, but he should score more. However, he has planty of room to improve, he’s only 22. He has to work hard to score more, like Hamsik.”

    KOULIBALY
“Koulibaly showed his catalogue of bulls**** against Herta. He’s gret, but sometimes he doesn’t prove all his potential.”
