Sarri blames the referee for Bologna’s opener

Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri couldn’t hide his frustration in front of journalists shortly after the Partenopei’s shocking 3-2 defeat against relegation candidates Bologna.

“Bologna scored the opener after a referee’s error. I heard that it was off-side, although it was a close call. If you say that Italian referees are the best in the world, you are a bandwagon. That’s not true.”

“You have to evaluate what a referee does throughout  the whole game, not the single call.”
Talking about the game, Sarri hit out at his lads too for their lack of concentration.

“At the beginning of the second half we could have reopened the game. We created four goal attempts, but we conceded the third goal on a counter-attack.”

“After Bologna’s 3-0 the lads thoughts they couldn’t win the game anymore ant that’s completely wrong. They need to understand that we can win games if we maintain concentration in defense. Our potential up front is impressive so much so we can score anytime.”

“With the same solidity and mentality of 20 days ago we could have win this game. We need to work on mentality. We are also coming from a very challenging period and probably we were a bit too relaxed today.”
