Rugani's performance set Caceres free to leave | by Gianluca Minchiotti
At his first game as a starter, Juventus center back Daniele Rugani has not failed: his performance has been excellent in the first half, a little worse in the second one, as well as his whole team. Massimiliano Allegri and Giuseppe Marotta were right: Rugani can be a starter for Juve, now, and –most of all- in the future.
As outlined by calciomercato.com’s chief editor Gianluca Minchiotti, all this confirms that Martin Caceres has started in the game against Hellas Verona for a strategical reason: the Uruguay international is no longer part of the club’s plans, and so the bianconeri boss has deployed him in a quite easy game to find some more suitors.
The contract of the 29-year-old will expire at the end of the current season, so he can leave now with the payment of a reasonable transfer fee or in June as a free agent; also Juve’s position is clear: the Piedmont’s club doesn’t want to reinforce other Italian teams. Nothing to do then for Inter and AC Milan, while, from abroad, there have been only some informal contacts with Fenerbahçe and Liverpool.
