Roma, Official: Salah out for 21 days. He will return in February.

After the news yesterday that Roma striker Mo Salah had picked up an injury and that his participation in Sunday’s Rome derby was in doubt, comes the news that the Egyptian frontman has picked up ankle ligament tissue damage.

After tests this morning, the club medical staff has stated that although it’s not too serious, the player will be out for around three weeks. This means that Salah will not play for the giallorossi until February as he will be taking part in the Africa Cup of Nations in January. The club’s official statement read:

“After examinations carried out yesterday and further tests this morning, we can confirm that Mohamed Salah will begin a rehabilitation process that we expect to take around 21 days”. Roma have been linked with a move for Manchester United play-maker Memphis Depay as a potential replacement for the player who has been in dynamic form this season.
