Roma: a challenge from Turkey for Depay

According to reports in The Mirror, Turkish giants Galatasaray have joined the race to sign Manchester United outcast Memphis Depay.

The journal suggests that the club will test the water by tabling a £15 million bid for the 22-year-old Dutch midfielder who has disappointed at the “Theatre of Dreams” since his big money move in 2015. 32 appearances that have resulted in just two goals could see the player looking for pastures new in January.
Reports from Italy have suggested that Roma are also in pursuit of the youngster and it could well come down to a straight fight between the two to try to land the Dutch international. Both clubs have allies of the player in their respective camps; Galatasaray has fellow countryman Wesley Sneijder and the Italian club has another international teammate, Kevin Strootman.

The Red Devils paid PSV Eindhoven £25 million for Depay in the summer of 2015 and although they would be reluctant to make a considerable loss on their player, it may ultimately be the best solution for both parties.
