Revealed: Real Madrid went close to signing Chelse flop Pato twice
The Brazilian striker received the first offer of Real Madrid in 2007, when he was still playing for Internacional, but Pato declined the offer of Pedrag Mijatovic who was serving as Real Madrid’s director of sport at the time.
The Merengues also tried to sign Pato in 2010, but AC Milan refused to listen to any offer for the Brazilian striker who completed a € 15 million move to Corinthians three years later.
Pato’s now under contract with La Liga side Villareal after spending a disappointing six-month loan spell at Chelsea last season.
